TIG-stavar

Silicon alloyed aluminum wire of type AlSi5 for TIG welding of AlMgSi and AlSi alloys with silicon contents up to 7%. The wire is recommended for e.g. EN-AW-6063 (SS4104), EN-AW-6082 (SS4212), EN-AW-42000 (SS4244), EN-AW-42100 (SS4245) and corresponding Al alloys according to other standards. The welding material has a high safety against cracks. Color matching between weld metal and base material during anodizing is less good. As with all aluminum welding, a high degree of discipline applies regarding cleanliness and minimization of oxide layers on joint surfaces and additive materials.

Magnesium alloyed aluminum wire for TIG welding of salt water resistant Al-Mg alloys containing up to 5% Mg. The welding wire is the most used type and intended for welding alloys corresponding to, for example, ENAW-5083 (SS 4140) where high strength of the weld joint is desired. Base material in the 5XXX series which together with OK Tigrod 5356 gives a weld metal with more than 3% Mg has good resistance to cracks caused by stress corrosion even where the operating temperature exceeds 65ºC. The alloy cannot be heat treated.
